the concept was born from the parallel but opposing trends of our technologized homes and our desire to reconnect with nature through domesticated plants. the exhibit comprised of a gadget-heavy home with plants sprouting from domestic appliances, creating unlikely sculptural objects. visitors were invited to contribute to and receive from the exhibit through virtual discussion groups and participate in the exhibit’s deconstruction at its closing. all furniture and gadgets were sourced locally and second-hand.

i refined the design concept, developed the spatial strategy & experience, curated plants & objects, developed the accompanying programming, and sat on the concluding panel. i also hosted a mid-exhibition interview with landscape artist lily kwong on landscapes, culture and spirituality. programming centered around the philosophy of plants, the history behind our relationship to them, and how we define nature as a way of reconnecting to it.

greenbrush was also featured in e-flux and new generations.
