i am a spatial designer and artist based in brooklyn.

my work is rooted the psychology and politics of design; how we can harness this knowledge to build better spaces for people who need them. i believe good design translates the story of its context — culturally, historically, aesthetically and ecologically — into physical form.

understanding space as spiritual, my practice draws on principles of  indigenous african religions that reflect a reverent symbiotic relationship with the natural world. visually and materially inspired by such, my work fosters contemplation, restoration, and coalescence in a time of accelerated moral and environmental degradation.

i believe design should be artful. as human beings we are kinder to each other in the presence of art and beauty. i thus see design as a tool to enhance our humanity.

my name is ngozi.
