i am a spatial designer and artist based in brooklyn.
my interests lie in the psychology and politics of design; how we can harness this knowledge to build better spaces for people who need them. i believe good design translates the story of its context — culturally, historically, aesthetically and ecologically — into physical form.
my approach begins with an exploration into a location: its cultural histories, community members, socio-economic trends and environment to uncover a distinct identity, a common thread for the ultimate structure.
i believe design should be artful. as human beings we are kinder to each other in the presence of art and beauty. i thus see design as a tool to enhance our humanity.
my name is ngozi.
